Chinese School Tutoring for Kids

Is your child in a Filipino-Chinese school and finding Chinese class hard? Maybe homework takes all evening, dictation scores keep slipping, or nobody at home speaks enough Mandarin to help.

Our teachers work through your child’s own school materials in private online sessions, so every lesson goes toward what their class is covering and what their next exam will test.

Tell us your child’s grade, school and what’s coming up. We reply Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm.

Signs Your Child Could Use Support

  • Chinese homework ends in tears, or a parent has to sit through every page
  • They recognize characters in class but forget them by quiz day
  • Dictation and character-writing scores keep dropping
  • Their report card flags Chinese while other subjects are fine
  • No one at home speaks enough Mandarin to check their work

How It Works

School support runs as 1-on-1 tutoring, so the teacher can follow your child’s exact lessons.

1

Send us the materials

Share photos or files of the textbook pages, worksheets and exam coverage. Tell us whether the school uses simplified or traditional characters, and pinyin or zhuyin.

2

We match a teacher

We pair your child with a teacher who fits their level and their school’s system, including traditional characters and zhuyin when needed, subject to teacher availability.

3

Sessions built on school work

Each 45 to 60 minute session covers what your child is learning now or reviewing for next, at days and times you choose.

What We Can Help With

Homework and Lessons

We explain this week’s lesson in a new way and guide your child through homework, so they understand it instead of copying answers.

Exam and Quiz Review

Send us the exam coverage and we’ll plan the review around it: vocabulary, sentence patterns, reading passages and practice questions.

Dictation and Writing

Regular practice with stroke order and character recall, so 听写 (dictation) stops being the hardest part of the week.

Reading and Pronunciation

Reading aloud with a teacher who corrects tones and pronunciation as they go.

Speaking Confidence

Kids who freeze during oral recitation or class recitals get a private space to practice speaking.

Building Long-Term Fluency

Alongside school support, our group classes build everyday listening and speaking with other kids.

Who Will Teach Your Child

Our teachers are native and near-native Mandarin speakers based in China. Every teacher on our team has:

  • At least 3 years of experience teaching kids
  • A teaching degree, and for teachers who aren’t native speakers, HSK 5 certification or higher
  • Fluent English, so they can explain lessons clearly to Filipino kids
  • Training on our own curriculum, with ongoing training and regular quality checks

Frequently Asked Questions

My child’s school uses traditional characters and zhuyin. Can you help?

Yes. Tell us what your child’s school uses when you message us, and we’ll match your child with a teacher who handles traditional characters and zhuyin, subject to teacher availability.

Do you follow my child’s textbook?

Yes. The teacher works from the pages, worksheets and exam coverage you send, so sessions match what your child’s class is doing.

When should we start before an exam?

The earlier the better, since characters stick with spaced practice. Send us the exam date and coverage, and we’ll suggest how many sessions to book.

Can group classes cover school work?

Our group classes follow the Little Owls curriculum, which builds listening, speaking and reading that helps in school. For work tied to your child’s own textbook and exams, 1-on-1 tutoring is the better fit.

Do you only help students of certain schools?

No. We work with students from different Filipino-Chinese schools. All we need is your child’s materials.

Tell Us What’s Coming Up

Send us your child’s grade, school and next exam date, and we’ll recommend a plan.
