Our Programs
Little Owls Learning Center’s Mandarin Classes
At Little Owls, we believe Mandarin is best learned through consistency, curiosity, and connection. Every child learns differently, which is why our programs are designed to match your child’s pace and personality — whether they thrive in a lively small group or prefer focused one-on-one attention.
Our online Mandarin classes combine structure with play, helping kids gain confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing through engaging lessons and teacher interaction.
Our Programs
Once-a-Week and Twice-a-Week Classes
Families can choose between once-a-week and twice-a-week programs, depending on their child’s schedule and learning goals.
- Once-a-week classes work well for younger kids or beginners easing into Mandarin.
- Twice-a-week classes provide faster progress and more frequent practice with teachers and classmates.
Each class runs live online and follows the Little Owls curriculum, which balances vocabulary, speaking drills, games, and situational conversation to build real-world use of Mandarin.
Annual Program: OWLS and QUILL
Students on the Annual Program get free extra weekly sessions on top of their regular classes.
Additional Classes
- QUILL – A weekly writing and reading class that alternates between the two each week. For all ages.
- OWLS (Owlets’ Weekly Learning Session) – A weekly conversation-focused class for ages 7 and below, covering topics outside our standard curriculum.
Students aged 7 and below get both OWLS and QUILL. Students older than 7 get QUILL. Because these classes are free extras, they don’t come with make-up sessions if your child misses one.
One-on-One Mandarin Tutoring
Our One-on-One Program gives families full flexibility.
- Students can follow the Little Owls curriculum or customize lessons around specific goals such as reading, pronunciation, test preparation, or conversational fluency.
- Teachers personalize pacing, materials, and feedback to fit your child’s exact learning style.

Frequently Asked Questions
Choosing the right support for your child’s Mandarin journey is a critical decision. Below, we’ve answered the most common questions regarding our enrollment tracks and one-on-one sessions to help you select the path that best aligns with your child’s academic goals and your family’s schedule.
What is the difference between the 4-class and 8-class monthly tracks?
The 4-class track (once a week) is designed for steady, consistent exposure that fits easily into a busy school schedule. The 8-class track (twice a week) is our accelerated growth option. It provides the high-frequency immersion needed for faster retention and is ideal for students looking to bridge a learning gap quickly.
How do I know if my child should take Group or One-on-One classes?
Group classes are perfect for building a child’s social compass by learning through peer interaction and collaborative challenges. However, if your child has a specific school exam approaching, needs to catch up to a certain grade level, or requires a highly customized pace, our one-on-one sessions provide that targeted, 100% dedicated focus.
Can we switch from 4 classes to 8 classes mid-month?
Yes. If you find your child is gaining momentum and wants to accelerate their progress, you can transition to the 8-class track. We simply adjust the schedule to ensure they continue their Mandarin learning journey without missing a beat.
Is there a long-term commitment for these monthly packages?
No, but we offer long-term enrollment options for families committed to full mastery. While we provide monthly flexibility, you can opt for an annual package to secure your child’s spot for the year and enjoy a discount of up to 50%.
Can we mix group classes with one-on-one sessions?
Yes. Many parents choose a hybrid approach to maximize both social engagement and academic precision. Your child can participate in our group sessions to develop conversational confidence and peer motivation, while adding targeted one-on-one classes to focus on specific school exams or bridge individual learning gaps.
