Mandarin your child can keep learning at home
The Little Owls Mandarin Club is our online self-study course for kids, built on the same curriculum our teachers use in class. Your child learns through story videos, picture flashcards, games, and speaking and writing practice, and every lesson comes with a parent guide so you can help, even if you don’t speak Mandarin.

Each lesson follows the same steps, so your child always knows what comes next. Lessons open in order, so every new one builds on the last.
Story video
A short animated story introduces the new words, with a “Your turn!” round so your child says them out loud.
Speak with Lili
Your child answers out loud and Lili listens, showing which words sound great and which to practice again.
Picture flashcards
Every word comes with a picture, pinyin and real Mandarin audio, plus a listening game to check what stuck.
Quizzes by age
Each lesson ends with a quiz made for your child’s age, one for ages 3 to 7 and one for ages 8 to 15.
Parent guide
A short guide at the start of every lesson shows you what your child is learning and how to help at home.
Writing practice
Stroke order, tracing and a printable practice sheet help your child learn to write the characters too, on any phone, tablet or computer.
Every word your child learns, saved in one place
As your child finishes lessons, each new word is saved as a picture flashcard in My Words. They can tap a card to hear it, say it out loud and review it anytime, so there is always something to come back to between lessons.
My Words keeps one child’s collection. If you’d like each child to have their own, each child needs their own membership.
Four levels, 27 lessons and growing
The levels follow our class curriculum from first greetings to everyday conversations. Level 5 is coming soon and is included when it opens.

What age is the Mandarin Club for?
Ages 3 to 15. Children ages 3 to 10 learn best with a parent nearby, and the parent guide shows you how to help. Older kids can usually go through the lessons on their own.
Do I need to speak Mandarin to help my child?
No. Every word has real Mandarin audio, and the parent guide at the start of each lesson explains what your child is learning and how to practice together.
How much time does it take?
Each lesson takes about 15 to 20 minutes. A few short sessions a week is plenty, and your child can go at their own pace.
Can siblings share one membership?
Yes. Siblings can share one Self-Study membership. My Words keeps one child’s collection, so if you’d like each child to have their own word collection, each child needs their own membership. The live class in Self-Study + Teacher is for one child.
Can I try it before paying?
Yes. Lesson 1 is free, with its quizzes, and no card is needed. Try it here.
How do I cancel?
You can cancel anytime by messaging us. Your access continues until the end of the month you’ve already paid for.
My child already takes classes at Little Owls. Do I need to pay?
If your child is on our one-year (annual) class package, the Mandarin Club is included free. Families on monthly or 3-month plans get it free when they switch to the annual package. Message us and we’ll set it up.
What device do we need?
Any phone, tablet or computer with a web browser. For Speak with Lili, allow the microphone when your browser asks.
